This is the contents of the bottle: exact forms, exact doses, the capsule itself, and what we can and cannot currently document. Where we don't yet publish something, this page says so rather than working around it.

Supplement Facts, as printed on the bottle

Supplement Facts

Serving Size: 1 Veggie Capsule Servings Per Container: 60

Supplement Facts panel for Truina BoneRoute, transcribed from the product label. Serving size 1 Veggie Capsule, 60 servings per container.
Nutrient Amount Per Serving %DV
Vitamin D3(Cholecalciferol) 125 mcg 625%
Vitamin K2(mk-7)(as Menaquinone) 100 mcg **
Calcium(As Calcium Carbonate) 210 mg 16%
BioPerine ®(Black Pepper Fruit Extract) 5 mg **

** Daily Value (DV) not established

Other Ingredients: Microcrystalline Cellulose, Hypromellose (vegetable capsule).

How to read this

  • This is a transcription, not a redesign. The rows, forms, doses, units and footnotes above are reproduced from the printed label exactly as they appear, including the order — vitamins before minerals, which is how a Supplement Facts panel is required to be laid out.

  • 125 mcg of vitamin D3 is the same as 5,000 IU. The label uses micrograms because that is the current convention; elsewhere on this site you'll see it written as IU, which is the unit most people recognise. Same amount, two ways of writing it.

  • 210 mg is elemental calcium — the calcium itself, not the weight of the calcium carbonate it comes from. Calcium carbonate is roughly 40% calcium by weight, so 210 mg of elemental calcium comes from roughly 525 mg of the compound. The panel shows the elemental figure, which is the one that matters and the one regulations require.

The four actives

Each ingredient, in its exact form

What each one is, at what dose, and why we use that particular form. The argument for how they work together is on the Science page; this is the specification.

Vitamin D3

125 mcg (5,000 IU)

Cholecalciferol

What it supports

Supports calcium absorption and the maintenance of normal bones.

Why this form

D3 (cholecalciferol) is the form the body makes from sunlight and the form used in most vitamin D research, as distinct from D2 (ergocalciferol), which is plant-derived. The Science page covers the absorption role in full.

Source
CONFIRM — Is the cholecalciferol lanolin-derived (sheep wool, so vegetarian but not vegan) or lichen-derived (vegan)? This determines whether we can describe the product as vegan. Supliful spec sheet.

Vitamin K2

100 mcg

Menaquinone-7 (MK-7)

What it supports

Supports the body's normal use of calcium in bone.

Why this form

MK-7 has a longer half-life and higher bioavailability than MK-4 or vitamin K1, which is why it is used at microgram doses. The Science page sets out what the trials do and don't show, including that our dose sits below the trial that found a benefit.

Source
CONFIRM — Is the MK-7 fermentation-derived (typically natto/Bacillus subtilis) or synthetic, and is it all-trans? Also: is it a branded ingredient such as MenaQ7? Supliful spec sheet.

Calcium

210 mg elemental

Calcium carbonate

Weight

210 mg is elemental calcium. That is the calcium itself, not the weight of the carbonate compound delivering it. Calcium carbonate is about 40% calcium by weight, so 210 mg of elemental calcium comes from roughly 525 mg of calcium carbonate. If you are comparing products, compare elemental figures — that is what a Supplement Facts panel is required to show.

What it supports

Supports the maintenance of normal bones.

Why this form

Carbonate carries more calcium per milligram than citrate (about 40% versus about 21%), which is what keeps this a single small capsule. The trade-off is that it depends on stomach acid, so it should be taken with food. The Science page states that trade-off in full, including when citrate would suit you better.

Source
CONFIRM — Is the calcium carbonate mineral-sourced (limestone) or from another source such as oyster shell or algae? Oyster-shell sourcing would be a shellfish allergen and would rule out vegan. Supliful spec sheet.

BioPerine®

5 mg

Black pepper fruit extract, standardised to piperine

What it supports

Supports the absorption of fat-soluble nutrients.

Why this form

BioPerine® is a branded, standardised piperine extract, which is why the trademark appears on the label. The Science page is candid about the limits of the evidence, including that it was studied with other nutrients rather than with D3 and K2.

Source
CONFIRM — Confirm the BioPerine® is genuine Sabinsa-supplied material and note the standardisation (typically 95% piperine). Trademark use requires the supplier relationship to be real. Supliful spec sheet or supplier certificate.

Everything else

The other two ingredients

Besides the four actives, the label lists two more substances. That is the complete contents of the capsule — six things in total.

  • Microcrystalline celluloseA purified plant fibre used as a bulking agent, so that a small quantity of actives fills the capsule consistently. Common, inert, plant-derived.
  • Hypromellose (vegetable capsule)The capsule shell itself. Hypromellose is HPMC, a cellulose-derived polymer — this is what makes it a vegetable capsule rather than gelatin, which is animal-derived.

There is no separate flow agent, lubricant, colouring, or sweetener on the label. If a substance is not listed above, it is not in the capsule.

Not in it

What the label rules out

Everything below is absent because it does not appear on the label's ingredient list, which must name everything in the capsule. We have deliberately not listed absences we cannot verify this way — those are open questions further down, not claims.

  • GelatinThe capsule is hypromellose, a vegetable capsule.
  • Magnesium stearateNot on the ingredient list. It is the flow agent people most often ask about.
  • Titanium dioxideNot on the ingredient list.
  • Artificial colours, flavours and sweetenersNone appear on the ingredient list.
  • Silicon dioxide and other anti-caking agentsNone appear on the ingredient list.

We are not claiming this product is free of anything not listed here. Where we don't yet have documentation — allergen cross-contact, for instance — the page says so rather than filling the gap.

Allergens

What we can and cannot tell you about allergens

The ingredient list contains no milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nut, peanut, wheat, soy or sesame ingredient. That is a statement about the formula, and it is as far as the label alone allows us to go.

It is not the same as an allergen-free claim. Shared equipment and facility cross-contact are a separate question, answered by the manufacturer rather than by the ingredient list, and we do not have that documentation yet.

  • Facility cross-contact CONFIRM — Does the manufacturing facility also handle milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy or sesame, and is there a shared-equipment statement we must carry? Supliful spec sheet or manufacturer allergen statement.
  • Gluten CONFIRM — Is there gluten testing to support a 'gluten-free' statement (under 20 ppm), or only an absence of gluten-containing ingredients? These are different claims and only one is defensible without testing. Manufacturer or COA.
  • Vegan status CONFIRM — Vegan status depends on the D3 source (lanolin vs lichen) and the calcium source (limestone vs oyster shell). Until both are confirmed we can say 'vegetarian capsule' but not 'vegan'. Supliful spec sheet.
  • Non-GMO status CONFIRM — Is there Non-GMO Project verification, or supplier non-GMO declarations only? We should not use the phrase 'non-GMO' without knowing which. Supliful spec sheet.

Where it's made

Who makes it, and what that phrase means

The label reads “Manufactured for Truina, 18 Pantego Point, Calgary, AB.” That wording is precise and worth unpacking, because it is easy to misread.

“Manufactured for” means Truina does not own or operate a manufacturing facility. The product is made by a contract manufacturer to our formula, and the Calgary address is Truina's own business address — the party responsible for the product — not the address of a plant. Any brand whose label says “manufactured for” or “distributed by” is in the same position, and we would rather explain it than let the address imply a factory we don't have.

CONFIRM — Name and location of the contract manufacturer, and which certifications that facility actually holds (FDA registration, cGMP, NSF, third-party audit). Supliful is the fulfilment partner; ask them which manufacturer produces this SKU and request the facility's certification documents.

Testing and quality

What we can currently document

We do not currently publish batch test results or certificates of analysis on this site. Until we can show you a document, we would rather say that plainly than display a badge.

What we can tell you today is what the label states: the forms, the doses, and the complete ingredient list, transcribed above without alteration. That is the part we can stand behind because you can hold it in your hand and check it.

We are requesting the batch documentation from our manufacturer. When we have it, it will be published here, including the parts that are unremarkable.

CONFIRM — Does third-party testing exist for this SKU, and can we obtain per-batch COAs to publish? Note: the homepage FAQ and Standards section currently state 'third-party tested' and 'cGMP manufacturing'. If those cannot be documented they must be removed from the homepage; if they can, this section should be rewritten with the evidence. The two pages currently disagree.

Safety and interactions

Who should talk to a doctor first

Truina is a dietary supplement, not a medicine, but it is not right for everyone in every situation. These are the cases where a conversation with your clinician should come before your first capsule.

IF YOU TAKE A BLOOD THINNER

Vitamin K is directly involved in normal blood clotting, which is why it interacts with warfarin and other vitamin K antagonists. In people on stable warfarin, changes in daily vitamin K intake measurably shift INR. Do not start Truina without talking to the doctor or clinic that manages your anticoagulation. This is not a reason to be alarmed — it is a reason to make one phone call first.

If you already take vitamin D

One capsule contains 125 mcg (5,000 IU) of vitamin D3, which is above the Institute of Medicine's Tolerable Upper Intake Level of 4,000 IU a day for adults. If you take a separate vitamin D supplement, a multivitamin, or a prescribed dose, add them up and talk to your clinician before combining them. Vitamin D is fat-soluble and accumulates, so more is not automatically better.

If you already take calcium

Truina's 210 mg is designed as a top-up. If you are also taking a dedicated calcium supplement, review the combined total with your clinician or pharmacist rather than assuming the two stack safely.

If you have kidney disease or a history of kidney stones

Your kidneys regulate calcium and activate vitamin D. Both are handled differently when kidney function is reduced. Please speak with the clinician managing your kidney care before taking any calcium or vitamin D supplement, including this one.

If you are pregnant or nursing

Nutrient requirements and safe upper limits are different during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ask your obstetric provider before starting Truina.

If you take other medications

Calcium can affect how some medicines are absorbed, including certain thyroid medications and antibiotics, which is why spacing them apart is often advised. Your pharmacist can check your specific list in a few minutes and is an underused resource for exactly this question.

Questions, answered plainly

FAQ

It is a single vegetable capsule taken once a day. We have not yet published the capsule size, and we would rather not guess at it — see the note below.

[[ CONFIRM — What is the capsule size (e.g. size 0, size 1) and its dimensions in mm? This is one of the most common pre-purchase questions from this audience and we should answer it precisely. Supliful spec sheet. ]]

Yes — with your largest meal of the day. The calcium in Truina is calcium carbonate, which depends on stomach acid to be absorbed well, and food is what provides those conditions. This matters more than usual if you are on a GLP-1 medication, because digestion is slower and meals are smaller.

Add up the totals before you combine them. One Truina capsule contains 125 mcg (5,000 IU) of vitamin D3, which on its own is already above the Tolerable Upper Intake Level of 4,000 IU a day. Stacking it on top of a multivitamin or a prescribed dose is a conversation to have with your clinician or pharmacist, not something to decide from a product page.

Supplements of this kind are generally kept in a cool, dry place with the cap closed and away from direct sunlight, which is what the label directs.

[[ CONFIRM — What is the printed shelf life and the storage instruction on the label's side panel, and where is the expiry/best-before date located on the bottle? Label artwork (side panel) or Supliful spec sheet. ]]

Not yet. There is a lot number printed on the bottle, but we do not currently operate a batch lookup or publish per-batch documentation. If that changes, it will be described on this page.

[[ CONFIRM — Where is the lot/batch number printed on the bottle, and can Supliful provide per-batch COAs that we could publish or make available on request? ]]

Please check with the doctor or clinic that manages your anticoagulation before you start. Vitamin K is directly involved in normal blood clotting, which is why it interacts with warfarin and other vitamin K antagonists, and changes in daily vitamin K intake can shift INR. This is a reason to make one phone call first, not a reason to be alarmed.

TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR

Vitamin K2 can interact with warfarin and other anticoagulants. If you take a blood thinner, talk to your doctor before use.
